We are six independent charities affiliated to Home-Start UK, the UK’s leading family support charity. Our aim is to provide early support to families who are facing the challenges and stresses of family life, including a wide range of difficulties such as isolation, low self-esteem, physical and mental health issues.

Home-Start offers a one-to-one home visiting service; recruiting and training volunteers who then go on to offer informal, friendly and confidential support to families at home. We work alongside parents in their own homes to help raise their self-confidence and their ability to cope in an increasingly pressured society. Our key emphasis is on parents helping parents.

Each Home-Start in Fife also has a programme of activity in addition to home-visiting which reflects the needs of their local community. This might be family groups, Bookbug, Baby Massage etc
